5 Things You Can Start Doing In Your Social Media Right Now

There’s always so much to do when you run a business alone. Marketing takes up a big chunk of your time, and it’s the most common area I find at the top of the list of things to outsource!

There’s always so much to do when you run a business by yourself.

Social media is free advertising, so it makes sense to utilise it.

To make your life easier, plan to free up time and headspace.

Here are five things you can start doing today to make social media marketing work for your business:

1. Batch Create Content

Schedule time in your week to create multiple pieces of content to reduce the pressure of “what shall I post today?” and maintain all critical consistency.

2. Repurpose Content

Turn a blog into multiple posts, create a video snippet or re-use longer posts into several shorter, easy-to-digest tips.  Maximise what you already have instead of making fresh all the time.

3. Plan Around Content Pillars

You can simply simplify your strategy by focusing content around 3 or 4 particular topics that are the foundation of your business and what you want to be known for.

4. Create Templates

Use Canva or something similar to design branded templates for quotes, testimonials, and announcements. This saves time when always creating something new and adds to the consistency of your brand.

5. Engage with your Audience

Could you set aside 20-30 minutes daily to respond to comments and DMs?  Regular interaction helps nurture relationships with your audience, boosts visibility and builds community without feeling like you’re ALWAYS on socials.  Feed the algorithms by being regularly active.

Marketing your brand is the most time-consuming part of running a business by yourself; consistency is critical, even though it feels hard. People become familiar with your style and messaging when they see consistent content. Consistency isn’t about posting daily without fail; it means maintaining a regular, reliable presence that aligns with your business goals. This builds the know-like and trust factor, which is why planning makes a difference.
