Lisa has become one of the UK's leading experts on passive income strategy.  Previously an overworked event planner, she’s built a 7-figure business and become a source of inspiration, teaching female entrepreneurs how to leverage skills and expertise to create sustainable, scalable income streams.  She’s relatable due to her transparency and authenticity around the ongoing battle with imposter syndrome. She speaks to the power of persistence, adaptability, and mindset, which are areas we often get stuck in!

Use of Social Media as a Catalyst for Success

Lisa Johnsons’ success has been significantly influenced by her strategic use of social media, particularly Facebook and Instagram.  Instead of showcasing a polished, idealised version of herself and her personal life, Lisa took a real, relatable and raw approach.  Her authenticity connected her with a growing audience of women who saw themselves in her story.  Sharing everyday struggles and talking about real-life experiences made their dreams a more significant possibility of becoming a reality.

She started sharing her journey, struggles, and successes in Facebook groups, which led to building a community around her brand before she realised she had one!  By being open and honest about the challenges she faced, from dealing with debt to navigating parenting twin boys while building a business, Lisa quickly gained the trust and respect of her followers.  She used social media as a platform for genuine connection and conversation through posts, videos and going live, not by treating it as a marketing tool.

As her audience grew, she realised the potential of social media to elevate her profile further. She was using Instagram to share valuable business tips alongside her personal story, providing strategies and insights into how she built her passive income streams.  Her business followers could implement this consistent and actionable content immediately; Lisa positioned herself as an authority in her expertise - passive income.

What sets Lisa apart on social media is her ability to create a space where women feel seen, heard, and supported. Her Instagram stories often feature behind-the-scenes glimpses into her daily life, giving her audience a sense of who she is as a person—not just as a business coach. This transparency helps her followers feel more connected to her, turning them into loyal clients and brand advocates.

She rapidly increased her reach through the strategic use of social media, turning a small community into a global audience.  Her ability to harness the power of social media allowed her to scale her business in ways that traditional marketing couldn’t have matched.  Today, she has 48.5K followers on Instagram alone, and she continues to use these channels to inspire, educate, and empower female founders worldwide.

Conquering Imposter Syndrome

Despite her success, Lisa is no stranger to imposter syndrome. She openly discusses how self-doubt has affected various stages of her entrepreneurial journey. Sometimes, questioning if she deserved success or felt like she didn’t belong in high-level business circles, Lisa has experienced the same fears holding many female entrepreneurs back.

What makes Lisa particularly compelling is how she addresses these doubts head-on. Instead of letting the imposter dictate her actions, she uses it as a tool for personal growth. She often reminds her audience that even the most successful people deal with self-doubt in online content, masterclasses, and talks. I’ve attended her masterclasses in the past. What you see on social media is how she is in real-time!

One of the strategies Lisa recommends for overcoming imposter syndrome is to focus on your “zone of genius”.  You encourage women to stop comparing themselves to others and embrace what you do best. Narrow down your unique strengths, as Lisa has done, and you can confidently position yourself as an authority in your field despite the doubts that creep in along the way.

She also emphasises the importance of surrounding yourself with a supportive community - through masterminds or online networks.  Having the right people in your corner helps push you through periods of self-doubt and maintain momentum.  She frequently reminds her audience that no one succeeds in isolation; finding a community of like-minded women is critical to overcoming limiting beliefs & conquering the imposter.  Lisa’s network provides a platform for women to connect with others on a similar path, helping them grow professionally and personally; her no-judgement atmosphere makes it easier for women to open up about their challenges, find solutions and thrive in their businesses.

Authenticity as a Business Strategy

Lisa Johnson has built her brand on a foundation of authenticity. She shares experiences with depression, burnout, and self-doubt, allowing her audience to see the whole picture, not just the highlights!

This transparency is one of the reasons Lisa has built such a big following. Her audience trusts her because she’s relatable and real. Only recently did I see a story about launching one of her products, talking about the number of spaces still available—there are no scarcity tactics; she’s honest and upfront.

In a world where social media often glorifies success without acknowledging the work and challenges behind it, Lisa’s honesty is refreshing and empowering. She doesn't pretend to have it all figured out or shy away from discussing her setbacks.  She gives other female solopreneurs permission to do the same by being herself.  You don’t need to adopt a persona for social media or hide behind a perfect facade to succeed.

By strategically using social media to share her authentic story, tackling imposter syndrome head-on and building a community, Lisa is a role model for female founders looking to break free from self-doubt and build sustainable, successful businesses on their terms.

Success isn’t reserved for a selected few; it’s available to anyone willing to do the work, trust themselves and embrace their unique strengths.
